About me

Hi there

My name is Harry, and my music alias is 'fennee'.

I work on commissioned projects such as soundscapes for short films, high-wire shows, kickstarter video games, meditation videos etc. I play the piano at a skill level of grade 5 and I am grade 5 music theory.

I am now working on the production of the original soundtrack for the upcoming Ayahuasca documentary 'Wake Up Human', designing an authentic auditory atmosphere to guide the audience through the experiences of partaking in the Ayahuasca Dieta in the Amazon Rainforest. We are looking to use our skills to explore and push the boundaries of entertainment experiences and interactivity while applying them to meaningful causes.

My process

I have been producing music since I was 7 years old around the year 2002 when my Dad bought himself Logic Audio 5 (back when it was owned by Emagic) for his PowerBook G3 as a toy to experiment creating sounds with. I then discovered it one day when I was playing around with his computer. At this age I hadn't really heard much music other than what my Dad exposed me to such as Kraftwerk, Isan and Laibach to name a few, and also the soundtracks to old video games I used to play such as Boom, Bub & Bob, Glider, Bugdom and Runescape.

As I grew up and made my way through the prickly schooling system I was left with this main passion and drive in life which is music production, so I went to study further and to nurture this creative flame within at West Suffolk College at the Music Technology Extended Diploma Level 3 course, a highly demanded practical based course which provided me with exemplary skills in audio engineering, studio production and live sound production. I was taught recording, mixing, mastering and studio management skills.

I furthered my education at Anglia Ruskin University where I joined the Bachelor's degree Creative Music Technology course. It was here where I was first introduced to Ableton Live 9 which I taught myself how to use once I discovered its potential, along side Max by Cycling '74, which I still find very confusing. I learned about composing music for films as well as receiving extended development in the recording studio. I discovered the inner mad scientist of sound to achieve unusual and intricate soundscapes.

Today I capture field recordings using my H1n handheld recorder and load them into my DAW of choice which for me is Ableton Live 10, (sometimes Logic Pro X) and process them through lots of effect units to create silky ambience to embed the track in. I have a Korg Minilogue synth which I use to create melody lines and chords, as well as a Cantabile SP10 Electric Piano. I often channel these sounds into my Infinite Jets which is a resynthesis pedal by Hologram Electronics which enables me to create long and smooth ambient tones or granulated textures.
